New Guidance of CNIPA-INPI PPH Request

The new CNIPA-INPI PPH pilot program started on January 1, 2020 and entered Phase II on January 1, 2021. The INPI accepts at most 600 PPH requests from applicants of all its partner countries/regions per year, each applicant can file one PPH request per week, and the maximum number of PPH requests per IPC Classification from applicants of all its partner countries/regions is 150 per section per year; CNIPA accepts at most 500 PPH requests under the new CNIPA-INPI PPH pilot program in the five years.

When filing a PPH request to the CNIPA, please submit the request form and necessary documents according to the Procedures to File a Request to the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) under the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Pilot Program between the CNIPA and the Brazilian National Institution of Intellectual Property (INPI). Please refer to Attachment 1 (Chinese version) and Attachment 2 (English version).

When filing a PPH request to the INPI, please submit the request form and necessary documents according to the new program guidance document.
