From September 12 to 13, during the Third Belt and Road High-Level Conference on Intellectual Property, Lu Pengqi, Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), held separate bilateral meetings with Yusuf Riza, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development of Maldives; Himali Sagarika Hettihelage, Director of the National Intellectual Property Office of Sri Lanka; Elbegsaikhan Ganbat, Director General of the Intellectual Property Office of Mongolia; Chansouk Sengphachanh, Vice Minister of Industry and Commerce of Lao People's Democratic Republic; Rakhat Kerimbaeva, Director of the State Agency of Intellectual Property and Innovation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic; Uladzimir Rabavolau, Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Belarus. These meetings involved in-depth discussions on relevant cooperation matters.
During the meetings, Lu introduced the latest progress in China's IP work and reviewed the outcomes of previous collaborations. He noted that China is committed to deepening IP cooperation with all parties in various tasks and hoped that all parties could participate actively in practical cooperation under the Belt and Road framework, allowing IP to further support economic and social development in all countries and benefit our people.
The participants expressed their willingness to enhance communication and collaboration with China in areas including patent examination, trademark protection, geographical indication promotion and capacity building, in order to provide better services to innovators and the public.(Translated from CNIPA Website Chinese Version)
