The 2023 National IP Publicity Week activities will be launched on April 20 and last until April 26 – the 23rd World Intellectual Property Day. The official launch ceremony will be held at the main venue in Beijing as well as five regional venues in Liaoning, Jiangsu, Hubei, Xinjiang and Guangzhou both online and offline, unveiling activities across the country.
The coming publicity week, with the theme of "Strengthening Legal Protection of IPR, Supporting Comprehensive Innovation", will be led by three administrations including the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), the National Copyright Administration under the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the State Administration for Market Regulation and co-hosted by 18 other institutions like the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
The 20th CPC National Congress report stated "strengthen legal protection of intellectual property rights, in order to establish a foundational system for all-around innovation". As the 23rd World IP Day nears, the organizing committee of the Publicity Week activities will strengthen publicity and education on IP protection, and advocate the construction of IP culture with the concept of "respect knowledge, preach innovation, obey the law with honesty, compete fairly" as its core.
During this year's activities, the CNIPA plans to systematically review the historic achievements and see historic changes of the Chinese IP undertaking in the first decade of the new era. In addition, this year marks the 50th year of cooperation between China and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Relevant fetes will be integrated into some of the publicity week activities to promote the IP publicity both at home and abroad and extend the reach and appeal of activities internationally.(Translated from CNIPA Website Chinese Version)
