The international registration is valid for an initial period of 5 years and may be renewed for two additional five-year periods to guarantee at least 15 years of protection, up to the maximum duration of protection allowed by each contracting party. The holder shall present a request for renewal to the International Bureau before the international registration expires and pay the corresponding renewal fee.
