The first informal meeting of the BRICS heads of intellectual property (IP) offices since the expansion of BRICS was held during the Sixty-Fifth Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The meeting was attended by Shen Changyu, Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), and the heads of BRICS IP offices.
Shen noted that the expansion of BRICS marks a historic milestone for their IP cooperation this year, injecting new vitality into the cooperation. He expressed hope for joining hands and strengthening dialogue and cooperation with all parties to achieve more pragmatic results in patent, trademark, and other fields, contributing significantly to the global IP ecosystem with more "BRICS power".
