CNIPA Deputy Commissioner Meets with AmCham China President Michael Hart

Lu Pengqi, Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), recently met in Beijing with Michael Hart, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China), along with representatives from member companies.

Lu provided an update on China's latest progress in intellectual property (IP) protection, emphasizing that the Chinese government has attached great importance to IP work, committed to providing equal protection for both domestic and foreign enterprises. He reiterated CNIPA's commitment to listening to feedback from foreign-invested enterprises on China's IP protection with an open and proactive stance, striving to establish a top-tier business environment characterized by market orientation, legal governance and international standards.

Hart expressed appreciation for China's achievements in IP protection on behalf of member companies. He affirmed that AmCham China would continue to serve as a bridge, fostering IP exchanges and cooperation between China and the United States. Following the meeting, Hart presented the CNIPA with the 2024 American Business in China White Paper.
