CNIPA Deputy Commissioner Meets with WIPO Deputy Director General Lisa Jorgenson in Beijing

Recently, Lu Pengqi, Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), met in Beijing with Lisa Jorgenson, Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) who attended the Celebration of the Thirtieth Anniversary of China's Accession to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and the meeting of international authorities under the PCT.

Lu provided updates on recent progress in China's IP work. He stated that China has been committed to international IP cooperation and over the past 30 years since entry to the PCT, China has improved its domestic IP legal framework, actively participated in the revision of IP international rules and carried out fruitful cooperation with the WIPO and other stakeholders, making positive contributions to the development of PCT system.

Jorgenson noted that the Chinese government has paid great attention to IP work, recognizing China's significant contributions to global innovation. The WIPO is willing to deepen cooperation with China to enhance the PCT system, aiming to better serve innovators worldwide.
