Shen Changyu, Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), recently led a delegation to the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia (SAKPATENTI) on a working visit.
During the visit, Shen held bilateral talks with Soso Giorgadze, Chairperson of the SAKPATENTI, conducting in-depth discussions on the latest developments in IP work in both countries and other IP issues of mutual concern. Shen noted that two IP offices have maintained a strong cooperative relationship, with frequent high-level exchanges, and expressed China's willingness to further enrich cooperation, enhance communication, and promote fruitful collaboration in various fields.
Giorgadze emphasized the significant role of IP in economic and social development and expressed Georgia's strong commitment to its partnership with the CNIPA. He hoped that China would further share its experience in building IP legal system and examination framework, and expressed Georgia's willingness to actively participate in the Belt and Road IP cooperation to promote mutual benefit.
The visit was a key step in implementing the memorandum of understanding signed by the two offices last year under the witness of the two countries' leaders.
