Shandong Launches 2021 IP Publicity Week

For the purpose of thoroughly implementing the important instructions and statements made by General Secretary Xi on IP work, especially the guiding principles in his important speech at the 25th Group Study Session of the Political Bureau of the 19th CPC Central Committee, Shandong Administration for Market Supervision (Intellectual Property Office) launched the IP Publicity Week as the 21st World Intellectual Property Day was nearing. Diversified activities will be carried out during this week-long event to publicize IP knowledge, announce IP-related policies and present the development of IP cause of the province.

On April 21, the People's Government of Shandong Province held a press conference on the province's IP work. Hou Chengjun, Secretary of the Leading Party Member's Group and Director of Shandong Administration for Market Supervision, as well as Director of Shandong Intellectual Property Office, introduced the progress Shandong made in IP work during the 13th Five-Year Plan period and the major tasks and moves to take in the future, and answered the questions of reporters.

On the same day, Shandong Administration for Market Supervision (Intellectual Property Office) and Shandong High People's Court held the signing ceremony of the Framework Agreement on Cooperation of Linking Judicial Protection and Administrative Enforcement for Intellectual Property Rights. In the framework, 16 aspects are proposed for cooperation, including litigation and mediation linkage, case study, investigation and evidence collection, case execution, information exchange, resource sharing and publicity and guidance, in order to effectively link administrative enforcement and juridical protection, boost industrial upgrading and high-quality development, and promote the implementation of the strategy of building a province strong on IP.

At the launch of the event, Shandong Administration for Market Supervision (Intellectual Property Office) also released the top 10 cases of administrative protection on IPRs, involving domestic and foreign patents and trademarks and other IPRs. These cases are typical and influential, have demonstration effect on IP education and can help to create a sound environment for entrepreneurship and innovation.

During the event, Shandong Administration for Market Supervision (Intellectual Property Office) will also release a white paper on the province's status of IP development and protection, destroy goods involving IP infringement and launch training courses on IP information utilization. Diversified activities will be carried out to publicize IP knowledge in schools to enhance students' awareness of respecting knowledge, advocating innovation and being honest and law-abiding.
