Nearing the 21st World Intellectual Property Day, the 2021 IP Publicity Week of Jiangsu Province & Nanjing City kicked off in Nanjing on April 21. Zhi Suping, Director of the Provincial Intellectual Property Office, Ni Hanyi, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Science and Technology Department, and Shi Xinfeng, Director of Nanjing Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, attended the ceremony.

Zhi stressed that during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, Jiangsu Province took IP as the fundamental system for innovation-driven development and strived to establish the modern industrial system with IP at the core. This year marks the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan, which is also a key year for Jiangsu to make new progress in IP cause based on the achievements made in the past five years. Relying on the comparative advantages as a first mover in IP, Jiangsu will strives to make breakthroughs in IP protection enhancement and IP creation and reserve in key areas to fulfill its mission as a spearhead and take the lead in basically building a province strong on IP, so as to serve the new development pattern in a better way, she said.

At the launch, the Provincial Leading Group Office for Implementing IP and Trademark Strategies released the Top Ten IP Cases of Jiangsu Province in 2020; the provincial IP Office, provincial Science and Technology Department, provincial Industry and Information Technology Department and the Patent Examination Cooperation Jiangsu Center of the Patent Office under CNIPA jointly launched the industry-talent matchmaking campaign in a bid to strengthen industry chains by virtue of IP; the provincial IP protection center opened the "Jiangsu Intellectual Property Big Data Platform" and released the Statistical Report on Intellectual Property of SMEs in Jiangsu Province that was prepared relying on the platform.(Translated from CNIPA Website Chinese Version)
