Date:2021-04-25

On April 20, Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan jointly launched the 2021 IP Publicity Week with the theme of "Enhancing Intellectual Property Protection Comprehensively, Striving to Build the New Development Paradigm". This is the first time for the three cities to launch this event together to actively put into practice the guiding principles in General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech made when inspecting Hunan as well as the national strategic arrangements.

During the week-long event (April 20-26), the three cities will carry out 80 activities including release of typical cases, IP-related training seminars, forums, IP examination services for enterprises, IP publicity in campuses and enterprises, matchmaking meetings for banks and enterprise, etc., to comprehensively publicize the progress they have made in IP cause.

At the launching ceremony, directors of the three IP Offices (administrations for market regulation) signed a cooperation agreement on sharing the IP resources among the three places. In terms of IP protection, the three cities will carry out joint law enforcement campaigns against cross-regional group infringements on IPRs and rely on the China (Changsha) Intellectual Property Protection Center to establish an inter-city service platform for right determination and early warning analysis. In terms of IPRs obtained, they will establish a cooperation mechanism among universities and colleges for the commercialization of IPRs, jointly foster high-value patents in engineering machinery, rail traffic, aerospace and other key industries, and carry out regular cross-regional matchmaking activities for IPR commercialization.

In the future, the three cities will enhance IP cooperation by removing the regional, industrial and information obstacles in IP creation, application, protection, management and service, and bring into play the driving role of IPRs in innovation-driven development, as well the role as the IP basis in the new development paradigm, in order to boost high-quality integrated development and implement the strategy of "building three major hubs and making new progress in four aspects" instructed by General Secretary Xi.(Translated from CNIPA Website Chinese Version)
