Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Organizes Activities for 2020 National IP Publicity Week

The CNIPA and the State Administration for Market Regulation join hands with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and some other central departments to launch the 2020 National IP Publicity Week (April 20-26), with the theme "Intellectual Property and Healthy China." The event is to thoroughly implement General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping's important instructions on intellectual property, vigorously advocate for innovation, fully implement the spirits of the 19th CPC National Congress and the Second, Third and Fourth Plenary Sessions of the 19th CPC Central Committee, and take a coordinated approach to promoting COVID-19 prevention and control and intellectual property work.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology attaches great importance to intellectual property. By implementing the Action Plan for Intellectual Property in Manufacturing (2018-2020) (Document No.239 [2018] by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) and the annual intellectual property promotion plan, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will provide guidance for key areas of the manufacturing industry to strengthen the overall planning of intellectual property rights, strengthen intellectual property protection in industries, promote the application of intellectual property rights in the manufacturing industry, enhance the intellectual property capabilities of manufacturers, and actively play the supporting role of intellectual property in enhancing China's manufacturing and internet strength.

Following the spirit of the Notice on Launching the 2020 National Intellectual Property Publicity Week, issued by the Organizing Committee for the National IP Publicity Week, affiliated units of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will carry out a series of activities: online trainings on corporate intellectual property rights in key areas of building manufacturing strength; release exemplary cases in using intellectual property rights and corporate patent analysis in key areas of the manufacturing industry; publish the first issue of the journal Intellectual Property in Industry and Information Technology; put up public interest advertisements on intellectual property rights at government ministries and agencies; put up weblinks of CNIPA activities; and prompt reporting on Publicity Week activities.
