On December 1, the 27th CNIPA-JPO Heads Meeting was held online, attended by CNIPA Commissioner Shen Changyu and JPO Commissioner Kasutani Toshihide. The heads reviewed their cooperative efforts in IP work over the past year and identified priorities for the future.
Dr. Shen Changyu remarked that JPO is an important partner of CNIPA. Over the years, bilateral cooperation in IP work has produced fruitful outcomes, and the two offices have also conducted in-depth cooperation under the frameworks of TRIPO and IP5, Shen said. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19, they have actively coordinated with each other and made steady progress on various bilateral projects. He hoped that the two offices could continue to deepen bilateral IP work.
Mr. Kasutani Toshihide said that JPO and CNIPA have made smooth progress in invention patents, designs, trademarks, automation and other fields over the past year. He hoped that the two offices could continue to deepen cooperation on the basis of mutual trust.
At the meeting, the two offices had in-depth exchanges on cooperation in examiner exchanges, designs, trademarks, automation, patent reexaminations, human resources development, legal systems, application of laws and other fields, and exchanged ideas on how to smoothly implement cooperative projects in the context of prevention and control work of COVID-19.
