On December 3, the WIPO Coordination Committee Seventy-Ninth (28th Extraordinary) Session was convened in Geneva, Switzerland, in an online and offline hybrid mode. CNIPA Deputy Commissioner Gan Shaoning led the Chinese government's delegation to attend the session online.
This Extraordinary Session of the Coordination Committee adopted the appointments of the Deputy Directors General and Assistant Directors General of WIPO. At the session, Gan Shaoning, speaking on behalf of the Chinese delegation, supported the nomination of the new senior management team and highly appreciated the efforts of WIPO Director General Daren Tang in the selection of Deputy Directors General and Assistant Directors General. He said that China will continue to work closely with the Director General and his senior management team, participate actively and constructively in WIPO affairs, and work together with all member states to promote the global IP development together.
It is understood that WIPO's newly appointed senior management team includes four Deputy Directors General from the United States, China, France and Indonesia, respectively, as well as four Assistant Directors General from Japan, Ghana, Colombia and the United Kingdom.
