Recently, Hu Wenhui, Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), led a delegation to India to attend the 18th BRICS Meeting of Heads of Intellectual Property (IP) Offices.

Senior representatives from CNIPA and the IP offices of Brazil, Russia, India, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates attended the meeting. At the meeting, Hu noted that IP cooperation is an important area of BRICS cooperation. CNIPA stands ready to work with the IP offices of BRICS countries to move forward together, fully leverage the development opportunities brought by the expansion of BRICS, further broaden the scope of cooperation, expand its impact, and elevate BRICS cooperation in the field of IP to a new level. Participants discussed the progress of cooperation projects in various areas, adopted six new cooperation projects, and approved updates to the Operational Guidelines, a key institutional document.
