From July 6 to 9 (local time), during the Sixty-Eighth Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Member States, Shen Changyu, Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), held separate bilateral meetings in Geneva, Switzerland, with the heads of the intellectual property offices of Spain, the United Kingdom, Austria, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Australia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), and Sweden, as well as with the heads from the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO), and the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI). He also participated in the WIPO Informal Ministerial Policy Dialogue and attended the BRICS Heads of Intellectual Property (IP) Offices Meeting.

During the bilateral meetings, Shen and his counterparts held in-depth exchanges and reached broad consensus on issues of mutual interest. All parties expressed their willingness to further deepen IP cooperation with China by strengthening exchanges in areas including IP talent development, public IP services, IP pledge financing, trademark and geographical indication protection, and the application of artificial intelligence in patent examination, with a view to jointly supporting innovation-driven development. During the meetings, Shen signed memorandums of understanding on cooperation in the field of IP with the heads of the IP offices of Spain, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Austria, Uzbekistan, and the DPRK. He also signed Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) agreements with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) and the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan.

On July 6, WIPO hosted the Informal Ministerial Policy Dialogue under the theme "Bridge builders: Innovation and creativity driving future societies." Shen attended the dialogue and delivered a speech highlighting China's achievements in the IP sector from the perspectives of legal framework development, innovation-driven development, and IP-enabled economic growth. His remarks were warmly received by participants.

On July 7, Shen attended the BRICS Heads of IP Offices Meeting. He emphasized that China attaches great importance to IP cooperation among BRICS countries and has taken the lead in launching a number of cooperative initiatives that have achieved positive results. He expressed the hope that all BRICS members would maintain the strong momentum of cooperation, achieve more tangible outcomes, and further enhance the influence of BRICS cooperation.
