Recently, the IP Eurasia in China roadshow was held successively in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Haikou, Hainan Province. Zhang Zhicheng, Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), and Li Feng, Vice Governor of Hainan Province, attended the Hainan session and delivered remarks.
Zhang noted that intellectual property (IP) serves as an important institutional safeguard for protecting innovation, improving the business environment, and promoting high-level opening-up. The roadshow would help innovative entities in Hainan better understand and utilize the Eurasian patent system, strengthen their capabilities in international IP portfolio management and protection, and support high-quality development.
Li said that Hainan is currently at a crucial stage of further deepening reform comprehensively and advancing high-quality development. The roadshow would help more business entities in Hainan obtain stronger IP protection as they expand into international markets.
Grigory Ivliev, President of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO), and his delegation introduced six related topics including the basic framework of the Eurasian patent system and engaged in exchanges.
