Shen Changyu Holds Bilateral Talks with IPOS Chief Executive Tan Kong Hwee

On February 2, Shen Changyu, Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), held bilateral talks with the visiting Tan Kong Hwee, Chief Executive of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS). The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the latest developments in the field of intellectual property (IP), artificial intelligence and patent examination, as well as bilateral cooperation.

Shen noted that, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of China and Singapore, the two offices have carried out extensive exchanges and cooperation in areas such as patent examination, data exchange, and mediation for IP disputes, as well as within the framework of China-ASEAN IP cooperation. He expressed the hope that both sides would continue to expand areas of cooperation and carry out more pragmatic projects, and elevate bilateral IP cooperation to a new level, so as to better promote scientific and technological innovation and economic development in both countries.

Tan said that China's achievements in the field of IP in recent years have been impressive. The IPOS is actively advancing the continuous improvement of Singapore's IP legal system and hopes to provide Chinese enterprises with a sound IP protection environment and convenient services. He expressed his expectation that the IPOS would continue to strengthen dialogue and exchanges with the CNIPA in the future and achieve more cooperative outcomes.
