Shen Changyu Meets with UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism

Recently, Shen Changyu, Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), met in Beijing with Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). H.E. Hussain Al Hamadi, UAE Ambassador to China, accompanied the delegation.

Shen stated that China and the UAE are comprehensive strategic partners with close bilateral exchanges in trade, technology, and culture. In May 2024, under the joint witness of President Xi Jinping and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the two countries signed their first cooperation document in the field of intellectual property (IP), opening a new chapter for China-UAE IP collaboration. Since then, the IP authorities of both sides have earnestly implemented the document, maintained close communication and steadily advanced practical cooperation. Looking ahead, China is willing to work with the UAE to continuously promote deeper exchanges and pragmatic cooperation in the field of IP.

Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri emphasized that IP cooperation is an important component of the bilateral relationship. The UAE attaches great importance to the role of IP in supporting innovation and looks forward to continuously deepening cooperation with China to promote development across various sectors.
