Recently, Shen Changyu, Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), led a delegation on an official visit to Tajikistan upon invitation. During the visit, Shen held bilateral talks with Mirzo Ismoilzoda, Director of the National Center for Patents and Information (NCPI) of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Shen noted that China and Tajikistan elevate ties to comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era, with deepening economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. The CNIPA has attached great importance to its cooperation with the NCPI. The two sides have maintained close communication and carried out practical cooperation under the frameworks of bilateral cooperation, the Belt and Road intellectual property (IP) cooperation, and the China-Central Asia cooperation in IP. Shen expressed the hope that the two sides would continue to deepen cooperation and contribute IP-driven momentum to regional economic and social development.
Ismoilzoda stated that the cooperation between the two offices has yielded fruitful results. CNIPA's experience in developing the IP system offers valuable reference for Tajikistan. With a growing number of Chinese patent applications in Tajikistan, he hoped that both sides would further strengthen exchanges and cooperation.
During the meeting, the two sides briefed each other on the latest developments in the field of IP and held in-depth discussions on topics including capacity building, IP commercialization, and cooperation in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. The two sides also signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on Cooperation in the Field of Intellectual Property.(Translated from CNIPA Website Chinese Version)
