Zhang Zhicheng, Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), led a delegation on a working visit to Finland and Austria upon invitation.
During the visit, Zhang held bilateral talks with the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH) and the Austrian Patent Office (ÖPA), engaging in in-depth discussions on a wide range of topics, including recent developments in their respective intellectual property (IP) systems, talent cultivation, legislative progress in IP law, trademark examination practices, and bilateral cooperation. While in Finland, the CNIPA and PRH jointly hosted an industry roundtable. The CNIPA delegation had extensive exchanges of views with representatives from Finland's innovation sector on topics such as China's latest IP legal developments, measures to support Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), the impact of artificial intelligence tools on trademark examination, and trademark application practices for innovative enterprises. In Austria, the CNIPA delegation reached a consensus with the ÖPA on upgrading their existing memorandum of understanding on cooperation.
The CNIPA delegation also visited the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Representative Office in Austria, where they exchanged views on IP protection for Chinese enterprises in Austria and explored opportunities for future cooperation.(Translated from CNIPA Website Chinese Version)
