Originating from Jingning County, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, Jingning Apple is renowned for its large size, standard shape, fine texture, abundant juice, and balanced sweet-sour taste. In 2011, "Jingning Apple" was registered as GI certification trademark. In 2020, Jingning Apple was listed in the first batch of mutually recognized and protected products list under the China-EU bilateral agreement on GIs. In 2023, the annual export of Jingning Apple reached 1.068 million tons, with exports to 19 countries and regions including the EU and Central Asia.
