Wenshan Notoginseng, produced in Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province, is one of the traditional precious Chinese medicinal herbs. On the basis of the dual certificates in GI certification mark and GI product protection, Wenshan Notoginseng was also selected into the first group of products list under a China-EU GI protection and cooperation agreement in 2020. According to statistics, in 2023, the cultivation area of Notoginseng Chinese herbal medicine in Wenshan Prefecture reached 2.3 million mu, driving the comprehensive output value of related biomedical industry in the prefecture to 35,151 billion yuan.
