From Aug.27th to Aug.31st, PRB delegation went to Japan to attend the first JEGPE (Joint Expert Group for Patent Examination) Meeting with KIPO and JPO.
The meeting covered reports of the current situation of reexamination institutions, systems and personnel of the trilateral offices, reports of patent law as well as censorship of the trilateral offices, and proposals for cooperation among the trilateral institutions. Through this meeting, the trilateral institutions reached consensus on a fixed cooperative mechanism, the exchange of relevant statistics, regular JEGPE meetings. Moreover, they agreed to hold the second JEGPE meeting next year and KIPO will sponsor it in South Korea.
The meeting was a big success that it strongly promoted mutual understanding and trust among these institutions, and laid a solid foundation for their further cooperation in reexamination. (Reported by Wang Lin, photographed by Lu Jianfeng and translated by Fan Rong)
