Mr. Tian Lipu Announced PRB’s First Official Logo

On the afternoon of April 25th, Patent Reexamination Board held a cultural construction symposium. Commissioner of State Intellectual Property Office Mr. Tian Lipu attended the symposium and announced PRB’s first official logo. President of Intellectual Property Publishing House Mr. Bai Guangqing, some other leading roles of departments or equivalents who had worked at PRB, some retied senior leaders and comrades, as well as some leading roles of divisions or equivalents on duty and youth representatives attended the symposium.

Mr. Tian Lipu delivered a speech after releasing the logo. He said that the release of the logo was an important program of PRB’s cultural construction, from collecting and screening to discussing and releasing, the whole process was a procedure to strengthen the cultural construction and enhance the cohesion of PRB. He fully affirmed the achievements made by PRB in the recent years and also hoped PRB would continue to work in the future to strengthen the ideological construction, business construction and cultural construction as well. Mr. Tian Lipu also instructed PRB to take the releasing as an opportunity to promote the cultural construction of intellectual property and make greater contributions to the development of China’s intellectual property industry.

Deputy director of PRB Mr. Zhang Maoyu introduced the process of how the logo came into being. He said the collecting work was started from the end of 2011 and total 42 pieces of work were received. After that they invited a professional design company and fully extracted the ideas and elements the logo has to convey through face to face interviews. The scheme was finally set after full discussion and repeatedly revision and optimization from the 21 design proposals submitted by the designers in 3 times. Meanwhile, in order to strengthen the intellectual property protection to the logo, PRB also carried out the novelty retrieval and applied for trademark registration. At the symposium, Mr. Zhang Maoyu also reported the major works of PRB in the recent period and the future work plan on “internal promotion”, 'external integration', 'innovation development' and other aspects.

Later, deputy director of PRB Mr. Zeng Wuzong introduced the preparation works of the compilation of PRB’s chronicles and the next work plan. He pointed out that the compilation of PRB’s chronicles is a major task of this year and it will fully record the historical changes of PRB from 1984 to 2013, nearly 30 years development and achievements. Through the early collection of documents and graphic files as well as several seminars, the chronicles’ draft and style have been determined. Then, based on full preparation and mobilization, PRB will encourage all members to continue training, collecting historical data, surveying and verifying, and tidying and compiling works to try to complete the chronicles compilation before the 30th anniversary of PRB. The compilation of the chronicles is not only an exhibition of historical data and achievements for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of PRB, but also a good opportunity to promote the patent examination cultural construction. PRB will take this opportunity to extensively solicit opinions and suggestions from society.

The symposium was successful held. Participants shared their opinions and made good suggestions for the above issues, especially on the cultural construction and the compilation of the chronicles. This cultural construction symposium, including the releasing of the first logo and the promotion of the compilation of the chronicles, will better drive PRB to serve the society in an objective and impartial, efficient and pragmatic, rigorous and professional attitude, and to form a core ideology and cultural atmosphere of 'respecting the law, focusing on liability, grasping the essence, and performing consistently”.
