According to the Memorandum of Understanding on the Pilot Program between the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) of the People's Republic of China and the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) of the Federative Republic of Brazil, the SIPO-INPI PPH pilot program will be launched on February 1st, 2018, with either a duration of two years until January 31st, 2020 or expiring at the time when 200 applications are received by SIPO and INPI respectively under the program, whichever occurs first.
It is a limited pilot program which only covers a limited number of project modes, technical fields, and applications. After the program is launched, applicants may refer to Technical Guidelines of PPH Pilot Project between INPI and SIPO that are commonly used by the two offices for specific requirements under the program; submit a PPH request to SIPO pursuant to the Procedures to File a Request to the State Intellectual Property Office of the P.R.China (SIPO) under the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Pilot Program between the SIPO and the National Institute of Industrial Property of Brazil (INPI); and submit a PPH request to INPI pursuant to the User Guidelines of INPI-SIPO PPH Pilot Program.
