The State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) and the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) commenced a Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot program on January 23, 2012 for a period of four years ending on January 22, 2016.

The SIPO and DPMA decided together to extend the pilot program for another two years ending on January 22, 2018 with related requirements and procedures unchanged.
