SIPO Commissioner Tian Lipu hosted his counterpart of the Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), Lee Soo-won, in the 17th meeting between the heads of the two offices on November 2. Both sides summarized their cooperation this year.

After sharing comments on relevant polices, the two sides signed the Minutes of Talks and a Joint Statement of Intent on Patent Examination Cooperation. According to the Statement, the two sides would further exert their role in patent area by launching a one-year pilot project for the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) on March 1, 2012.
