According to the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, central-government-controlled state-owned enterprises intensified innovation in the context of financial crisis.  As of the end of 2008, they owned 60,400 patents, up 32.7%; 20,500 or 34% of which were inventions, up 31%, making these companies more competitive in market. 2013-07-17
