The Ministry of Agriculture recently released a Plan on Introducing International Advancing Agricultural Technologies (948 Plan), requiring to combine technology introduction with self-innovation and develop self-reliant IPRs in the coming 5 years.

Under the plan, great emphasis would be place on combining the core technologies, key parts and vital theory introduced from overseas with domestic technologies, and master self-reliant IPRs. The plan also requires keeping pace with international advanced technology, improving domestic agricultural innovation and R&D capability and introducing advanced S&T achievements from overseas to meet China's immediate needs.
