State Council, on December 5, publicized the Guiding Opinion on boosting development of modern agriculture in northeastern region mapped out by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Agriculture. The opinion calls for enhancing innovation capability and technology with IPRs, new varieties of plants and well-known marks of agricultural products will be given full play role in developing modern agriculture.

The opinion says, the northeastern shall accelerate the transformation of agriculture development, lay a firm foundation of agriculture development, optimize the structure of agriculture, develop agriculture market with technological innovation, build the northeastern region as a strategic base to safeguard grain security, a base for producing or processing poultry and aquatic products and a demonstration zones of modern agriculture all over the country.
