To strengthen Chinese enterprises' IP protection work at overseas exhibitions and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, nine departments including State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), jointly issued the "Circular on Strengthening IPR Protection of Chinese Enterprises at Overseas Exhibitions" recently as approved by the State Council.
The Circular points out, it is necessary to guide enterprises to strengthen IPR management at overseas exhibitions and urge enterprises to strengthen self-examination on the IPR of exhibiting products. Related departments shall strengthen cooperation with overseas exhibition organizers. The Circular also requests to enhance external negotiation on IPR abuse, and encourage enterprises to apply for, register and purchase foreign IPRS.
