The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the Opinions on Maintaining steady and Relatively Fast Development of Ship-Making Industry under Current Circumstances, providing for aims in ship-making, such as optimizing product structure, enhancing core competitiveness, accelerating upgrade of mainstream ships, accomplishing design of special-purpose ships and high tech ships and launching a series of models meeting new requirements and new standards.

The Opinion says, the nation shall accelerate changes of development modules of ship making, elevate internal innovation capability and promote structural change.  Following the requirements of the Action Outline of Building Modern Ship-Making Module (2006-2010), promote assembly ship making, digital ship making, advance techniques, increase production efficiency, reduce energy and resource consumption.
