The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) issued the Decision on Rewarding 10-Year Achievements of the High-Tech Industrialization and Outstanding Individuals. Some essential technologies backed by self-reliant IPRs have been commercialized in scale.
In the past 10 years, according to the Decision, projects relating to information technology, biology, civil aviation and new materials, have been materialized under the directions from the NDRC and other agencies. Some essential technologies backed by self-reliant IPRs have been commercialized in scale. A number of companies now own their top cards backed by IPRs while becoming more famous in both home and abroad. The projects are rewarded for their contribution to encouraging society to promote independent innovation, speeding up the research-to-production cycle and streamlining industry structure. China now ranks second in the world in terms of high tech industry scale with its relevant products taking 20% of the international market.
