CNIPA Commissioner Shen Changyu Leading a Delegation to Indonesia

 

Recently, CNIPA Commissioner Shen Changyu led a delegation to Indonesia and had a meeting with Minister Yasonna Laoly of Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of Indonesia.

Shen Changyu stated that both China and Indonesia are important developing countries, and China's "Belt and Road Initiative"(BRI) agrees with Indonesia's "Global Maritime Fulcrum"Conceive (GMF), which contain broad prospects for cooperation. Since the Signing of Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding, both sides have carried out fruitful cooperation in various aspects including high-level dialogues, people-to-people exchanges and training. Shen Changyu stressed that The Chinese Government pays high attention to IP protection and Chinese President Xi Jinping has also emphasized enhancing IP protection. By upgrading the Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding, expanding pragmatic cooperation in investigation business and personnel training and strengthening the cooperation and exchange between both sides under the "Belt and Road Initiative"and the Framework Agreement of CAFTA, Shen's visit will deepen their cooperation in IP. According to Yasonna Laoly, China and Indonesia have maintained close high-level contacts and cooperation in various fields has been deepened. Indonesia also pays high attention to its partnership with China and is willing to strengthen IP-related exchange and cooperation between both sides and learn the successful experience from China to achieve mutual benefit and win-win situation and facilitate scientific & technological innovation and economic & social development of both sides.

After the meeting, both sides signed the upgraded Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding in IP. High-ranking officials from Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of Indonesia attended the meeting, including Director of Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights (DGIPR), Inspector General of Ministry of Justice and Human Rights and Minster’s Senior Consultant.

During his visit in Indonesia, Shen Chang yu and his delegation also met Xiao Qian, Chinese ambassador to Indonesia, and exchanged ideas about the overall situation of China-Indonesia diplomacy and IP-related cooperation between both sides. (Translated from CNIPA Website Chinese Version)
