He Zhimin Led Delegation to Visit WIPO

Lately, SIPO Deputy Commissioner He Zhimin led a delegation and visited the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on invitation, made an official visit to WIPO Director General Francis Gurry, and held meetings with Deputy Director General Wang Binying, Deputy Director General John Sandage, Assistant Director General Yoshiyuki Takagi and heads of various related divisions. 

During the visit to Director General Francis Gurry, He Zhimin reported on the latest development of restructure of SIPO, and introduced the preparation of the 2018 High-Level "Belt and Road" Conference on Intellectual Property. Francis Gurry expressed that after restructure, SIPO's importance in the IP field would be further enhanced, and that he was willing to cooperate with the Chinese government to jointly facilitate "Belt and Road" IP cooperation to bear more fruits. 

During meetings, the delegation and WIPO discussed on joint promotion of IP cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, and reached consensus on various issues. The two sides assessed the use of Funds-in-Trust China of WIPO, and agreed on specific arrangements for co-sponsoring the 2018 High-Level "Belt and Road" Conference on Intellectual Property.(Translated from SIPO Website Chinese Version)
