Lin Binghui meets U.S. Association of Intellectual Property Owners Delegation

 

Recently, Lin Binghui, Deputy Director of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) met Ms. Chang Shunxi, Leader of the U.S. Association of Intellectual Property Owners Delegation in Beijing.  Both parties conducted friendly and in-depth exchanges centering around the patent application in China, the 3rd amendment to China's Patent Law and the patent relieve and examination of quality.  Both sides said that they are willing to enhance exchange and cooperation in the intellectual property area.

Lin Binghui said that the "Chinese side will seriously consider the opinions and suggestions put forward by the U.S. side and hoped that both sides will expand forms of exchange and enhance cooperation.  Ms. Zhang Shunxi said that this has deepened her delegation's understanding of China's patent system and she looks forward to conducting more exchanges and cooperation with China's Intellectual Property Office in the future.

During the meeting, the related persons in charge of the Planning and Development Department, the Treaty and Law Department and the Patent Reexamination Board of SIPO gave a detailed account respectively on the acceptance and examination of patent application in China and the 3rd amendment to China's Patent Law as well as the hearings on the reexamination and the announced cases on invalidation of the patent right. The Chinese side also gave detailed answers to the questions raised by the U.S. delegation.
