In recent years, the industry is expanding in scale, export of their products has registered an increase by a big margin, and significant growth is seen in Chinese traditional trade of arts and crafts.

Zeng Peiyan emphasized, all localities and departments involved should show concern and support to the development of traditional arts and crafts. To this end, they should do a lot of things: improve such systems as the assessment of Chinese masters of arts and crafts, speed up training of professional talents in combination of the practice of renowned teachers coaching disciples and popular learning with modern school teaching, support should be provided to vocational schools to run traditional art and craft courses so as to vigorously develop such education and continuously enhance the quality of practitioners. On the other hand, greater efforts should be exerted to protect intellectual property and supervise trade activities, and maintain the market order of traditional arts and crafts. Besides, new development mechanism should be renovated in order to promote industrialized operations and increase product quality and added value. Domestically, publicity by media should be strengthened in order to maintain the vitality and influence of arts and crafts. Internationally, exchange and cooperation with foreign countries should be expanded so as to open up international markets and spur on Chinese traditional arts and crafts to go global.
