China and EU Inked Three Agreements Including "IP Protection II"

 

On January 17, Vice Minister of Commerce Yi Xiaozhun signed in Beijing three project financial agreements with Benita.Ferrero-Waldner, EU Commissioner for External Relations & European Neighbourhood Policy who is on a visit here. They are: "China-EU Law School", "China-Europe IP Protection II" and "China-EU Business Management Training". According to the agreement, EU will provide China with a gratuitous aid of 37.20 million euros, plus investment from the Chinese government, the total values of the three cooperative projects amounted to ?62.655 million.
 
It is learned that both sides will run a China-EU law school. The "China-EU IP Protection II" project aims to increase the efficiency of China's IP protection. In addition to a high-level business management training in China, the "China-EU Business Management Training" project will enhance the capacities of both sides in business management through various academic activities and exchanges. 

Waldner paid a three-day visit to Beijing from January 16 to 18 for the purpose of initiating China-EU negotiations on new partners cooperation so as to realize the commitments made by Chinese and EU leaders in Helsinki in September 2006.
