Recently SIPO determined 24 songs to enter the final period of IP Songs Competition after a careful evaluation of 44 songs in semi-final period. For the event, SIPO invited Meng Qingyun, a famous Chinese composer; Tian Xiaogeng, the director of the Composing & Editing Office of the Chinese Musicians Association (CMA), the deputy editor-in-chief of the magazine Songs and also a famous composer; Chen Feng, vice president of the Chinese Music and Literature Association, as the judeges. The three judges have evaluated the collected songs with admiring responsibility and professional standard.

 

Beginning from October, 2006, the competition had attracted 78 eligible songs from composers from 26 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions all over China in the 5 months after. Their contributors include employees from regional IPR Offices and Industry and Commerce Bureaus, companies and colleges, as well as government officials. Mr. Li Xiaoguang, deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Mr. Yan Su, a famous Chinese lyric writer and Mr. Zou Youkai, the former director of the Centre of Arts of CCTV.

 

Also admitted are the songs contributed by the employees from the offices, the department of retired cadres and information centre of the SIPO. The competition will be finished on April 2nd with a live performance in which 12 songs will be granted with various prices.

 

On April 26th, the World Intellectual Property Day, some of the songs will be performed at the theme evening show broadcasted by CCTV. The admitted songs are listed below:
