The State Office of Intellectual Property Protection, the nation's inter-agency IPR protection coordinator, recently announced its plan for the upcoming April 26 IPR protection publicity week. The activities of the Week for 2007 will be unveiled on April 20 in Beijing. The SIPO and our newspaper-sponsored National Contest of IPR Knowledge, among many scheduled activities, will kick off on the same day.
Some planned activities are opening ceremony for the Week, press conference, summit forum and April 26 Gala. The Society and Law Channel of the China Central Television (CCTV) picks the timing to launch its four-month-long mega-size IPR publicity program. SIPO's tantalizing menu features a press conference on IPR protection in China, open-to-public day on April 26 and a live chat at the governmental website. As a major IPR publicity platform in the country, our paper, the China Intellectual Property News, will advance its immense coverage of the grand event from April 18.
