According to the general guidance issued by 18 institutions including the National Office of Rectification and Standardization of Market Economic Order (RSMEO, State Office of Intellectual Property Protection, IPP), 20 Institutions including  RSMEO and IPP Yunnan Offices, Yunnan Propaganda Office, Public Security Department, Yunnan Provincial IP administration and etc. jointly released the Notice on Organizing the Event of IPR Publicity Week in 2007. It is decided that between 20 and 26 April, an IPR Protection Week featuring protecting IPR  and promoting innovation will be organized in the province.

The focus of this year's event will cover eight aspects, such as the principle stands of the Chinese government on IPR protection, relevant laws, regulations and international treaties on IPR, key cases and their implications on IPR protection, the important role of IPR protection in establishing innovative country and harmonious society,  typical cases of the companies in Yunnan Province which raised their completive advantages through IPR protection, the establishment and operation of the  Complaining and Informant Service Centre for IPR Protection (12312) and etc.

The Publicity Week will organize the launching ceremony and the press conference on IPR protection in Yunnan Province, print non-commercial advertisement competition with the theme of protecting IPR and encouraging innovation, IPR education campaigns in communities, special areas, institutions of higher education and companies, anti-piracy education campaign for university students, surveys on IPR awareness in large and medium sized companies and institutions of higher learning, publicity campaigns organized at ports and customs offices, seminars on the IPR protection of Pu'er tea, special TV reports on IPR, destruction of  IPR infringement objects and the inspection of joint enforcement on IPR protection and etc. As a result, the IPR protection education will be further strengthened, the awareness of IPR protection of the whole society will raised and the social environmental for independent innovation and opening up will be established.
