Dr. Schade, Commissioner of German Patent and Trademark Office is Conferred Honorary Professor of Tongji University

In the afternoon of May 18, 2007, a ceremony was held in Tongji University, at which, Dr. Juergen Schade, Commissioner of German Patent and Trademark Office was conferred honorary professor of the university.  Tian Lipu, Commissioner of SIPO and Honorary Vice-president of the IP Institute, Tongji University was present at the ceremony and also delivered an address.

 

Wan Gang, Minister of Science and Technology and President of Tongji University conferred the Certificate of honorary professor to Dr. Schade in the name of the university.  Also present at the ceremony were: Prof. Zheng Zhixing, Director of Shanghai Municipal IP Administration, Prof. Shan Xiaoguang, Vice-president of the IP Institute, Tongji University, Prof. Zimmer, Vice-president and Prof. Liu Xiaohai of the Sino-German Institute, Prof. Sund, Special Commissioner of the Geman Academic Exchange Center, representative from the Republic of Federal Germany Embassy in China and the relevant personnel from SIPO.

 

After the ending of the ceremony, Commissioner Tian Lipu met with Wu Qidi, Vice-minister of Education, while Dr. Schade visited the university's campus with great interest.  He also attended the relevant activities for the 100th anniversary of the university.  It was learned that Dr. Schade came to China for a visit at the invitation of SIPO.  In view of the remarkable achievements made by him in the IP field as well as his enormous contribution to the development of friendship and cooperation relationship between Germany and China in this field, Dr. Schade was recommended honorary professor of Tongji University by SIPO.
