On June 10, 2007, President Hu Jintao was present at the welcoming dinner hosted by the Sweden-China Trade Council in Stockholm and also delivered an important speech.  Hu pointed out that China will adhere to the opening strategy of mutual-benefit and win-win, the basic national policy of long-term opening to the outside world and constantly expand the economic and trade cooperation with all the countries and regions, so as to promote common development and prosperity.  "Protection for intellectual property right is in the common interests of all the countries in the world," Hu said.

 

Regarding the issue of China's economic development, Hu stressed, in particular, that China will earnestly protect intellectual property.  Protection of intellectual property  is in the common interests of all the countries in the world.  Moreover, it is China's earnest needs to expand opening to the outside world, improve investment environment and enhance proprietary innovation capability.  China will continuously improve the relevant laws and regulations, raise the consciousness for intellectual property protection of the entire society and protect the legitimate rights and interests of the intellectual property owners in China according to law.  At present, China's economy has entered a new round of growth period, in which, industrialization, urbanization and modernization have been accelerated in development and, the market volume is in rapid expansion, with huge space and potential for development.  Therefore, China's development will bring about huge trade opportunities to all the countries in the world, including Sweden.  Meanwhile, he pointed out that China will adhere to sustained development and the opening strategy of mutual-benefit and win-win.

 

Hu stated that China adheres to the principle of people first, the all-round coordination of the scientific development approach for sustained development and the basic national policy of preserving resources and protecting environment and that China sticks to the road of new-type of industrialization, actively readjust the economic structure, accelerate the conversion of the mode of economic growth, energetically raise the proprietary innovation capability and develop recurring economy, so as to build a resource preserving type and environmental friendly society.
