Recently, Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) of China Tian Lipu had a video conference with Alain Pompidou, President of the European Patent Office (EPO), and signed a cooperation framework agreement with EPO. This is the first agreement SIPO ever signed through video conference.

 

The agreement was developed and improved on the basis of the first bilateral cooperation framework agreement between SIPO and EPO signed on June 11, 1985, covering human resources, information technology, IP consciousness and other aspects. The framework agreement will exert important and positive influences upon further promoting IP cooperation between SIPO and EPO.
