The Meeting of SIPO and BPO Held in Beijing

The mixed meeting of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) and Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria (BPO) was held in Beijing on November 12. Tian Lipu, Commissioner of SIPO, and Mr. Kostadin Tchanev Manev, president of BPO, attended the meeting and signed the cooperation plan. The two parties exchanged ideas on Sino-Bulgaria office-level cooperation in IPR field, the latest development of international IP, as well as other IPR issues both concerned.

 

During the meeting, Mr. Tian expressed warm welcome to his counterparts, and briefed the latest development of SIPO, especially the sharp increase of the patent application in China, the third amendment of the Law of Patent, etc. Tian noted that the Sino-Bulgaria friendship had a long history, and since the establishment of bilateral cooperation mechanism in 1996, cooperation between two parties had been going further and more fruitful. "I hope your visit will bring about active impact to our future cooperation," Mr. Tian added.

 

Mr. Manev, after expressing his thanks to Mr. Tian for his hospitality, gave a high appreciation and congratulation to the accomplishment China made in IP field. He also introduced the general situation of BPO and expected to further strengthen the cooperation mechanism of the two offices through this mixed meeting.

 

After the conversation, the two offices signed the "2008-2009 Cooperation Plan between BPO and SIPO".
