The 14th Sino-Japan IP Commissioner Conference Held in Beijing

In the morning of November 30, the 14th Commissioner Conference between State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) and Japan Patent Office(JPO) was held in Beijing. The conference came to an agreement on strengthening personnel training, especially the cooperation and communication between training departments of SIPO and IPO, the celebration of 30th anniversary of cooperation and the 15th anniversary of the establishment of regular meeting mechanism between SIPO and JPO. At the end, the two commissioners signed a conference summery.

 

In the conference, Mr. Tian Lipu, Commissioner of SIPO, expressed his warm welcome to the Masahiro Koezuka, Commissioner of JPO, and his group for attending the conference, and then introduced the latest development of SIPO and the formulation of China National IP Strategy. "In the just-concluded 17th National Congress of Communist Party of China, Hu Jintao, General Secretary of CPC Central Committee, clearly asked to implement National IP strategy. The Chinese government is willing listen to all suggestions and ideas with an open attitude from other governments and the businesses, so as to readjust and complete our IP strategy," Tian noted.

 

Masahiro Koezuka introduced the recent work of JPO and the development of international IP, and gave a high remark to the further cooperation between the two offices. He suggested promoting a comprehensive cooperation and communication in order to make cooperation more fruitful and smooth. "We sincerely wish to enforce communication between examiners, and the exchange of personnel will further deepen our cooperation," he added.
