2007 China Patent Work Exchange Activity Between Enterprises and Public Institutions Closed

By the end of November, China Patent Work Exchange Activity between Enterprises and Public Institutions in 2007, organized by SIPO, was closed successfully. A total of 104 enterprises and public institutions from 31 of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities under the central government, as well as some other big cities, jointed the activity.

With a purpose to promote the understanding of enterprises and patent examiners, the later were sent to enterprises during the process to provide literal service and help the former improve patent consciousness. Meanwhile, the examiners got to know more about the development of relevant technologies in China, and thus their professional capability has been improved. This effort had further promoted the IPR cause in China.

In 2005, SIPO began to organize such activity, but the participants were merely from the pilot units appointed by SIPO. In this year however, more participants were listed into the activities, including IPR pilot or demonstration units both at national or provincial levels, patent exchanges, as well as some units having anxious demand for patent knowledge. All the participants this year were asked to give their requests to the organizer before the activity, and examiners also presented their expectation from the activity to the organizer, so as to make the two sides have a much better match. Before the activity started, the organizer had received requests from over 250 units and 430 examiners, and finally 104 enterprises and institutions, and over 130 examiners were successfully matched.
