In the morning of December 18, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM) held a press conference to release the main points of the Guidance on Strengthening Ethnic Medical IPR Protection jointly formulated by 11 Ministries, Commissions and Administrations including SATCM and SIPO, and answered questions from reporters.

 

The Guidance brings forward following eight main points: the guideline of ethnic medical development; the development ideas and objectives of ethnic medical cause; the main task of upgrading ethnic medical service; the emphases of exploration, inheriting and research on ethnic medicine; the objective of establishing the ethnic medical specialists; completing the policy on recruitment system of ethnic medical personnel; the specific measures on strengthening ethnic medical IPR and resource protection, as well as the specific requirements on enhancing management of ethnic medical work.

 

As the member unit of issuing this Guidance, the eleven ministries, commissions and administrations, including SATCM, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Health, National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Personnel, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the State Food and Medicine Administration, and SIPO, will cooperate each other on formulating and implementing the specific measures of the Guidance, and in this way, to enhance supports and create a sound atmosphere for the development of ethnic medical medicine.
