On December 20, representatives of some 80 enterprises in Pudong attended a ceremony and a symposium on IP practice held in Zhang Jiang Hi-Tech Zone to congratulate the birth of an IP People's Mediation Commission in Pudong. Seven experienced IP lawyers in Shanghai become the member of this commission.

 

Pudong is one of the most favorite places for foreign investors, and owns many hi-tech enterprises, so there is a higher expectation to IPR protection. As a synthetically reform testing area, Pudong takes the policy advantage in exploring new ways to enforce IPR protection, such as establishing the IP People's Mediation Commission to settle IPR disputes.

 

The commission not only provides a new method for IPR holders except for judicial, administrative and self-conciliation means, but also a new measure to complete IPR protection system. In addition, it will be helpful in ease disputes, and combine publicizing IP knowledge with IPR protection and people mediation.

 

Shanghai IP Administration has also given great concern and support to the commission, a new experiment in IPR protection.
